Updates on the Teen Moms

Updates - September 2012

There are some updates on some of the girls that I would like to post but none really need a full blog entry so I'll just do a mass update here!

So this is what the Teen Mom ladies have been up this week:

Maci and Bentley went on a road trip with Kyle for a motor-cross event.
Ryan and Dalis were spotted meeting with their MTV producer/manager. Perhaps talking about Maci's "rumored" spin off show?

Farrah has been on a book tour and making a lot of silly but interesting youtube videos.

Catelynn and Tyler were also out meeting with their MTV "family." I'm hoping to discuss the future filming of their wedding which is supposed to take place next summer.

Amber as I've already reported is not feeling well in prison right now. She says the fan mail helps her though and she thanks everyone who has sent her letters.

Amy Poehler and Will Arnett, who confirmed they were filing for divorce after nine years of marriage on Thursday, split because their romance "fizzled out,”RadarOnline.com is exclusively reporting.
The comedic pair, who parted ways amicably, lost their spark and the happiness was drained out of their relationship, a source said.

However, despite the break-up, Amy, 40, and Will, 42, are looking forward to raisingtheir two kids Archie, 3, and Abel, 2, and still have the utmost respect for one another.
“Will and Amy started to feel more like best friends than a married couple - and sadly they lost their spark,” the source revealed.

“They drifted apart, like a lot of couples do, but there’s no malice in the split, nor was anyone else involved.
“The two still love each other very dearly – and everything is completely amicable – but the romance died and neither one of them was happy, so something had to be done.

“Everyone used to think that because Amy and Will are both comedians their relationship was all fun. However, the laughter stopped a long time ago and now they just want to move on with their lives.
“Archie and Abel will still be well cared for, and Amy and Will will make sure they are still their number one priority,” the source divulged.

Teen Mom Reunion Recap

Teen Mom Season 4 Reunion Part One Recap

Teen Mom Season 4
Reunion Special Part One

Dr. Drew reads a statement from Amber saying that she had a probation violation and couldn't be there for filming. There will be more about her later in the part 2 reunion.

Catelynn and Tyler:

Catelynn talks about how intense the season was and the emotions that they went through. Catelynn and Tyler announce that they have chosen a wedding date. They decided to get married sooner than they had planned because of how long they had been together. Catelynn has started planning and already has her dress.

Something fans may not have known is that Catelynn and Tyler were "bad" angsty teenagers before having Carly. They weren't always the responsible and mature people they are today. Apparently they got into a lot of trouble in highschool. They talk a bit about how they both came from broken homes. Tyler with his father being in and out of prison his whole life. Catelynn with her mother being an alcoholic and having a dad that left. After having Carly they realized what is important in life and straightened their lives out. Now they want to counsel teens that are in the same situations they were in.

They talk about their visit with Carly, she is growing and has a big personality for being such a small little girl! It's good to hear how well she is doing. They play a clip of Catelynn's 16& Pregnant episode which makes me bawl uncontrollably. She says that her fans helped her through depression after placing Carly and she thanks them very much for their love and support.

Farrah:

She kicks off her portion of the show talking about the month she had Sophia staying with Debra. She is in tears instantly and explains that her plan of putting herself together during that break didn't work out the way she thought it would. Lesson learned. She talks about the guys she has dated and she believes they only dated her because of her reality TV star status. She explains her break up with Daniel. Apparently he got weird during the Texas trip and told her she should take a taxi back to the hotel.

Dr. Drew brings up the fact that she calls her father Michael. He asks why she does this. She has 2 stories, one that she has said in interviews before is that she calls him that because that is how she was raised. Her story in this interview was that she calls him Michael because she doesn't respect him. Oh Farrah. All the defending of you I have done... out the window!

Farrah is upset that their parents want to be so involved in her life and involved with each other. She is still very upset with the fact that her parents treated her poorly when Derek was alive.

I have to say the reunion was not as epic as I'd hoped it would be!

Amber is sick in jail

Amber Portwood Fallen Ill in Prison

Amber is currently in Prison serving her 5 year sentence for a probation violation. Things seemed to be going okay for her in there up until recently. Apparently Amber has fallen Ill and can't be treated by a doctor for many weeks.

Amber's brother Shawn says:
"She has an abscess in her mouth that's gotten so big and swollen that her whole jaw is puffed out. Her mouth has become infected and the pain is making her so sick that she can't sleep, and hasn't eaten a thing in three days... It needs to be done now if the infection gets in her blood stream it can be life-threatening."

Amber called her mother, begging her to try for an appeal so that she can be released early and see a doctor faster. She is in a lot of pain. It is sad to hear that she is ill. She is in my prayers!

Bad news for dads

Bad news for dads: Babies “should share mother”s bed until age three” because it”s good for their heartsSleeping alone makes it “harder for mother and child to bond and damages the development of the brain”Researchers believe this lead to bad behaviour as the child grows up
Babies should sleep in their mother’s bed until they are at least three years old, it was claimed last night.
The controversial advice comes from a paediatrician who found that two-day-old babies who were placed in cots slept less well than those who dozed on their mother’s chest.
Their hearts were also under more stress, it was claimed.

Sleeping alone makes it harder for mother and child to bond – and damages the development of the brain, leading to bad behaviour as the child grows up, researchers fear.
Dr Nils Bergman, of the University of Cape Town, South Africa, says that for optimal development, healthy newborns should sleep on their mother’s chest for the first few weeks
After that, they should stay in the mother’s bed until they are three or even four years old.
However, studies linking bed-sharing with an increased risk of cot death and fears that a mother will roll over and smother her child means that women are generally advised against this.
In a recent British study of sudden infant deaths, almost two-thirds of those that were unexplained occurred when the bed was being shared.
But Dr Bergman said: ‘When babies are smothered and suffer cot deaths, it is not because their mother is present. It is because of other things: toxic fumes, cigarettes, alcohol, big pillows and dangerous toys.’
Sixteen infants were studied while they slept on their mother’s chest and in a cot by her bed. Monitoring revealed the baby’s heart to be under three times as much stress when he or she slept alone.

Being in a cot also disrupted sleep, with the babies’ brains less likely to ‘cycle’ or make the transition between two types of sleep called active and quiet.
In the cots, only six out of the 16 had any quiet sleep and its quality was far worse.
Making this transition is thought to be key to the normal development of the brain.
Animal studies have linked the combination of stress and lack of sleep to behavioural problems in teenage years.
Dr Bergman said that changes to the brain brought on by stress hormones may make it more difficult to form relationships later on, leading to problems such as promiscuity.
The National Childbirth Trust is in favour of bed-sharing, as long as the parents have not been smoking, drinking or using drugs and are not obese, ill or excessively tired.
Professor George Haycock of the Foundation for the Study of Infant Deaths, said: ‘Our position as a foundation is that we owe it to the public to recommend that the safest place is in a cot in the parents’ room.’
